Consumer goods is a vast and fragmented sector, today at the centre of policy discussions under many aspects, made up of numerous players and where the product journey is long and full of layers.
Nowadays, consumers have access to a great deal of information about products and are increasingly demanding in the choices they make, paying attention to aspects such as the environmental impact of components or the product’s carbon footprint.
In this context, we believe that the GS1 standards system enables greater transparency and digitalisation along the supply chains, helping structuring product data and supporting consumers’ access to trusted data sources.
