EUDR is Coming: Preparing for the December 2026 Deadline

As the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) approaches its December 2026 application, GS1 standards can help companies turn regulatory requirements into practical, scalable solutions. Standards such as GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) for product identification, GLN (Global Location Number) for identifying farms, plots, warehouses and operators, and GS1 Digital Link / QR codes to connect physical products to digital due‑diligence information, support consistent traceability from origin to market.

Combined with GS1’s interoperability and data‑sharing standards (e.g. EPCIS), these foundations make it easier to link products to origin data, exchange information across supply chains, and support EUDR reporting efficiently.
